Watch-Box

i've seen many watch-boxes online & at the shops, locally & oversea. other than its price, shape & size, the key question is do i really need one. many of my watches come in nice boxes. 1 advantage is i can see many watches at one go. also convenient if i travel or shift house. the disadvantage is if thief, haha, grab & go.

saw the one i bought with 12 compartments & price was fair for a leather piece. made in china. well due to cny festival, the delivery was delayed. full story in earlier page, unhappy easter.

i've more than 2 dozens of watches, how to put in a 12 piece case. it'll be unfair to the other dozen. ah! my conclusion is put all Quartz watches in the watch-box. now i can see which one needs battery change.

Gucci Limited Edition

GUCCI is a high-end luxury brand that many love to have. i'm lucky to spot this rare Gucci Limited Edition, 1000 pieces worldwide, Chronograph Stainless Steel, original Black Alligator Leather Strap & pin buckle. 40mm. Automatic. this's my virgin Chronograph watch. commonly Chronograph watch is called 3-heads coz it's 3 'çlowns'. unlike Cartier & Bvlgari who already have a say in the Watch Industry. lately Chanel & Hermes are coming in too. hope Gucci, this Italian brand founded in 1921, will show its power in the watch industry soon.

UnHappy Easter Watch-Box

in jan i bought a Watch-Box online from Deal.com.sg. after making the full payment online, her partner merchant Voxxus Marketing email me saying that Delivery will be slightly late coz her China factory already closed for Chinese New Year! that's the 1st disappointment! i bear with it for companies in China usually close much earlier for the festival.

now 2013 CNY was on feb 10, & i presumed those China shops rested for 15 days. so they should be back to work on feb 25. i waited till the 1st week of mar to contact Voxxus to see the status of the delivery.
her email reply was on-the-way. on the 2nd week she apologised for the delay, still on-the-way. 3rd week she said already at the Custom Office waiting for clearance, & will expedited the delivery. on the 4th week the reply was sending. when i pressed further, the reply was already with the Courier, Maxcellent. i put this week as the 5th week. told her that i expect it to reach me this week, final, if not i'll take necessary action against all of them. i waited till wed, mar 27. the reply was surely i'll receive it instantly unless no one was in.
told them all were in but no sign of the courier. told them i expect it to reach me by thu, 7pm, the latest. if not i'll take action.

today's thu, the dateline for me to receive the Watch-Box. this morning received an email from the merchant saying that the courier ensured all goods were be delivered to all buyers by this weekend. tomorrow's Good Friday. & she said that she already instructed the courier to deliver mine asap. now's 9pm, 2 hrs passed the dateline i gave. still nothing.

at this point as i email the merchant & deal.com.sg earlier that it's a horrid, lousy & frustrated experience dealing with them. do they really have the product? what courier arrangement was made? 1st dealing with them. So Disappointing! should i get documentary proofs from them? told her if no product, full refund + compensation of kind.

i use courier often too & all deliveries are instant. purchase online too & all transactions were smooth.

gave them a final chance. as she said courier promised to deliver all goods by this weekend. so i should get mine. will take more serious action against them if they still fail.

good at making empty promises, time wasting & delaying. should i unsubscribe from deal.com.sg?
i can afford to lose, only $50+, but don't like to be "cheated"!

they failed again! now 2.33pm, 1/4/13, still nothing!

this morning, 2/4, received an email from the merchant highlighting the Courier's contact nos. its manager was unsure whether his delivery man did come last week & no one was in! this's the 1st time i'd to liaise with the
courier by myself!

it's here eventually at 6.45pm.

from this incident i learnt if the product is from China, don't buy it before, during & after Chinese New Year coz the shop in the native land will close for long holidays. likewise if the item is from Europe or USA, watch out for the Xmas & New Year holidays. a friend in the chemical trade ordered the goods from Germany in Nov. received her note that production is closed for the festival. provided you can wait or the merchant promises delivery before the festival otherwise it's going to be a long wait!   10.45am, 3/4/13.

Sea Gull of China is the World's Largest Manufacture of Mechanical Watch Movements! Amazing! founded in 1955 in Tianjin. a public listed company.
in Singapore, it's located at level 1, People Park's Complex, Chinatown. (shifted).  friendly staff.
Tourbillons & Chronograph movements are Sea Gull's expertise. many Swiss used it. 
in a dream, i was told to get its Dual Time. so i went. costing less than S$1k, i got this as shown here, Automatic, 40x15mm, 316 S/Steel, Croc grain leather strap, Pusher Date, Movement Shown! Great Watch! 
they've great range eg Sun Yat Sen, Zodiac, etc. it's a brand watch collector should have!

Which Watch?

in this modern & hi-tech world when mobile phone & computer can show the most accurate time, Do You Still Need A Watch? YES YOU DO coz by having a Watch on your Wrist, it Balances Your Look & Style. & Make A Better You. if you prefer call it Fashion & Status Symbol.

they're few hundred brands & thousands of models so which watch is for you? it's actually very easy to decide.

1. what shape or design you want or attract you?

2. what kind meaning Quartz, Automatic or Hand-Wind type?

3. what function i.e. basic, sports, diving etc? pilots told me they don't wear or need a Breitling Pilot to fly. 
    divers said they don't need a Rolex Deepsea.

4. what other functions? complication, grand complication, dual time, world time, moonphrase, power
    reserve, perpetual, annual calendar etc.

5. what technical details? usually most wearers don't bother about this. it means for eg in mechanical watch
    how many jewels, movement speed, chronometer etc.

6. what brand & $? well here's a tough choice. you might like AP but you only have $1k. save. 

7. what's next? after your first basic watch, you usually will eye for the 2nd one. streamline your choice:
    vintage, limited edition, sports, out-of-production model, investment value etc. if you're curious to 
    know how many watch i've now, haha, 25 is the answer.

2013 Snake Watch

each new year watch shops will design Watch of Animal Sign. this year the clear Winner should be the estd in 1884 Italian Luxury Water Maker, Bvlgari. look at the Precious Stones studded Snake Watch! Great Creation from the Snake Head to the Tail! it sure costs a bomb. but you & your next few generations will love it.

Bvlgari although popular with Jewellery, their Watch is a class of its own. infact my 1st Dual Time Watch is a Bvlgari.
